About Don Illustrator

Donia Pierre, known professionally as Don Illustrator, is a Miami-born Haitian American artist whose creative foundation was shaped at an early age. Inspired by her father, Emilio Pierre, a civil engineer whose detailed sketches helped design Miami’s highways, Donia grew up drawing cities, buildings, and imagined landscapes on sheets of printer paper. Her artistic talent was recognized early—at just six years old, she completed her first Art Basel workshop, and from 1999 to 2011, her artwork was selected annually for submission to Miami Art Basel through her school’s art programs.

Education & Background

Donia earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research, following in her father’s footsteps and building a strong foundation in STEM while continuing to cultivate her artistic identity. Her dual background in science and art informs her creative perspective, blending structure with imagination.

Entrepreneurship & Community Work

With the onset of COVID-19, Donia transitioned into full-time entrepreneurship. Together with her close friend, Lakeema Matthew, she co-founded a multi-collaborative creative facility dedicated to helping artists access the tools, space, and support needed to pursue their passions.

Through her entrepreneurial journey, Donia has created murals, paintings, and illustrations for businesses across the Tampa area, strengthening her role as both an artist and a community builder.
